Emmett "Shkeme" Garcia and Victoria Pringle will present a sneak pre-publication look at their new children's book, Sister Rabbit's Tricks, the second in their series of Native American legends on how the earth and its animal and people occupants began. Their first book, Coyote and the Sky, received the 2007 Southwest Children's Book of the Year Award. Garcia, who is from the Pueblos of Santa Ana and Jemez, of New Mexico, is a traditional Pueblo singer and dancer and the lead singer of the award-winning Native American reggae band Native Roots. Illustrator Victoria Pringle received her BA in fine arts from Bennington College in 2007.

Lisa Shannon A Thousand Sisters: My Journey into the Worst Place on Earth to Be a Woman
