With the long, warm summer days, it’s the perfect opportunity to relax in the park! Join us for the next installment of the Strand and SummerStage partnered Forewords event, where cultural ambassadors for the gypsy tradition discuss discuss music and history.

Costel Oprica Invancea of the Romanian gypsy brass band Fanfare Ciocarlia and Henry Ernst, founder of Asphalt Tango Records, will chat with Jakab Orsos, Director of Pen World Voices, about their efforts to bring gypsy music and culture to a wider, more diverse audience. Make sure you stay after their exclusive chat for sets by Fanfare Ciocarlia, Red Baraat, and DJ sets by Joro-Boro!.

Admission is $15 cash at the door of the event only, and includes entry to the music performance that follows. This exclusive event is limited to 100 guests. Entrance for this event is best accessed through the 69th/72nd Street park entrances off Fifth Avenue, where you will be directed to the VIP ‘Guest and Press’ SummerStage entrance.
