SOLD OUT: Lizzy Goodman + James Murphy + Nick Zinner + Rob Sheffield

Tuesday May 23: 7:00PM 8:00PM

Join author Lizzy Goodman, contributing editor at Elle with bylines at New York Times, Rolling Stone, Spin, and elsewhere, as she dives into the epicenter of the rock revival that spawned groups like The Strokes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, LCD Soundsystem, and Interpol. In the tradition of classics like Please Kill Me, Our Band Could Be Your Life, and Can’t Stop Won’t StopMeet Me in the Bathroom: Rebirth and Rock and Roll in New York City chronicles the birth of a new and vibrant scene.

Drawing on 200 original interviews with Julian Casablancas, Karen O, Ezra Koenig, and many other musicians, artists, journalists, bloggers, photographers, managers, music executives, groupies, models, movie stars, and DJs who lived through this explosive time, Goodman offers a fascinating portrait of a time and a place that gave birth to a new era in modern rock-and-roll. Joining her in conversation at Strand we're thrilled to host James Murphy of LCD Soundsytem and Nick Zinner, guitarist from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Come learn how it all began, and how it's changed our city.

This event is sold out. The event will be located in the Strand's 3rd floor Rare Book Room at our store at 828 Broadway at 12th Street. The line will form in front of the Strand on Broadway beginning at 5:30 PM on the day of the event. Seating will be available on a first come, first served basis.
