Maya Lang comes to the Strand for a special Bloomdsday evening! She'll present her novel, The Sixteenth of June, which traces the story of a family and friends brought together during the the course of a single day in June. From a funeral to their meeting at a Bloomsday party in evening, The Sixteenth of June examines the trials of love and ambition in contemporary America. This witty, intelligent debut novel that has been called "an insightful portrait of the postmodern family" by Teddy Wayne.
We’ll also be joined for the evening by David Gilbert, in celebration of the paperback release of his critically acclaimed novel & Sons. Lauded as “extraordinary” by Lev Grossman and placed on countless Best of the Year lists, & Sons is a rich, thoughtful novel on the ways in which family defines us.
