The Southern Review 80th Anniversary

Friday May 1: 7:00PM 8:00PM

The famed story of The Southern Review’s conception follows the Louisiana State President in his Cadillac over to Robert Penn Warren’s house—now, after 80 years of supporting incredible and exciting new writing, the prestigious literary journal comes to Strand for a special celebration hosted by the Writers Studio!

The stellar line-up includes novelists Jayne Anne Phillips (Quiet Dell; Lark & Termite) and Karl Taro Greenfeld (The Subprimes; Triburbia), as well as poets Stephen Dunn (Lines of Defense; Here and Now, What Goes On), David Wojahn (Interrogation Palace; World Tree), and Chloe Honum (The Tulip Flame).

Mix and mingle with some of the quarterly magazine's finest contemporary contributors, hear readings from these award-winning writers, and help Southern Review celebrate their 80th birthday in style in the Rare Book Room!

This event is hosted by The Writers Studio.
