The inclusive and universal poetry of Yrsa Daley-Ward has touched the lives of many readers with her penetrating themes and raw humanity. Her work is known for biting to the core, the essence of what it is to be alive, and explores frequently clashing worlds from religion and desire to societal expectations and what it’s like living in the world as a black woman. Yrsa writes about the realities often hushed in day-to-day interactions, the depression, the abuse, the vulnerability of love, and pens these ubiquitous experiences into works of beauty.
