Payment Methods FAQ
If you select a credit card as your payment method and "This Is An In-Store Pickup" in the delivery screen, we will charge your credit card when your order is complete. You will receive an email notification when your order is ready including instructions on where in the store to pick up your order. Please allow 1-2 business days for processing time.
If you select "Pay In-Store" in the payment options screen and "This Is An In-Store Pickup" in the delivery screen, we will hold the books and you may choose the method of payment when you arrive at the store. You will receive an email notification when your order is ready including instructions on where in the store to pick up your order. Please allow 1-2 business days for processing time.
The Strand Bookstore accepts purchase orders from qualifying institutions. To use a purchase order account, please select "Use A Strand Account" as your payment method and enter the PO number in the box provided. Orders placed with this payment method are subject to approval.
If you are interested in setting up a business account with us, contact the Manager at Account Services
Select "PayPal" in the payment options screen. Please note that you will NOT be redirected to PayPal at the time of checkout. When your order has been completed and is ready to be processed, we will send you an email with the final total and hold your order for three days. Instructions on how to create a PayPal account are included in this email. Please do not pay through PayPal before you receive our notification.
The Strand Bookstore accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards. The billing address that you provide must match the address that appears on your credit card statements. Your card will not be charged until your order is complete and ready to be shipped.
You may split payment with a gift card and any other method of payment.
We require 2-3 days processing time from the time you place your order before it can be invoiced and shipped. Your credit card will be charged after the order is complete, just prior to shipping. You will receive an automated "Status Change" email from us at this time. Remember, delivery expectations take effect after your order has shipped, NOT from the time you place your order.
