Innately friendly and typically over-cheerful, even after living in NYC for over a year and a half, Johanna has not quite shaken her polite, Midwestern, small-town upbringing. She adapted to life the bustling big city by seeking out peaceful places, frolicking outdoors as much as possible, and escaping into books.
With a degree in Philological Studies, Johanna is a lover of words and is drawn to linguistics and old literature in archaic languages. She particularly adores fairy tales and folklore. Open-hearted and easily amused, she is frequently seen with a wide grin, especially when there is anything cute around and so feels quite at home here in the children's corner.

I completely fell in love with Delirium! Joining the ranks of dystopian fiction authors, Lauren Oliver gives you an overbearing, omnipresent government that tries to completely control its citizens. Here lies a civilization where spouses are selected after an evaluation as though pairing chattel and mature citizens are victims of the enforced surgical mind control that (when successful) cures the patient of susceptibility to the deadliest disease “amor deliria nervosa” (commonly known as “love”). For those (like myself) who cheered for Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games by Susan Collins, readers of Delirium have the pleasure of seeing through the eyes (and sometimes feeling with the pulse) of Lena (Magdalena) Haloway. This strong 17-year-old protagonist struggles with her own emotional reinvention as well as her transformation from a complacent social outcast into an outright daring rebel. For fans of popular teen romances, like the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, readers are given a deliriously delightful forbidden love affair between an unlikely pair. I cannot wait to read book two!
