Motherland Fatherland Homelandsexuals by Patricia Lockwood

by Dorothea Lasky

Dorothea Lasky's Rome is everything you could want from a modern re-telling of the ancient city, and every city that came after. These poems are  surreal re-imaginings of myths that still exist: that which is dead but haunts you eternally, pain, sex, vomit, art, the underworld we shuffle through daily, and all of it vibrantly pulsing. Apollo smiled on these poems.

Motherland Fatherland Homelandsexuals

by Patricia Lockwood

Patricia Lockwood's poetry touches - sometimes gropes - the heart.
Think hallucinatory pastorals; think 3rd wave feminism filtered through tumblr; think the rug pulled out from under you and presented back as an Onion headline.
It's "crazygood" to quote myself.

(The Gabler Edition). First published in Paris in 1922. Perhaps the most important book of the 20th century, Ulysses is the transfixing, monumental novel about a day in the life of one Leon Bloom, the momentous day in the annals of literary history, for its author, James Joyce, virtually invented a language to tell its story. This edition represents the trade edition of the three-volume, extensively annotated Gabler edition in 1984. It stands as the definitive corrected text.
