Editorial Reviews
Originally appearing in two volumes, this essential work depicts Satrapi's childhood in Iran during the 1979 revolution. She was a spirited and intelligent young girl, and while the memoir focuses on her life first in Iran and later in France, it also details the experience of living in Iran under a strict regime. The black-and-white illustrations are simple, yet capable of portraying great emotion. This title will likely be asked for by name. - "Drawing on Reality " LJ Reviews 2/2/2012 (c) Copyright 2011.
