Product Description

In an annual tradition for The New Yorker, they held their fourth contest soliciting readers’ takes on Eustace Tilley, the magazine’s mascot. As promised, we have placed the winning artwork on a Strand tote bag. The winner, Michael Clayton was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. Currently he lives in Baltimore, Maryland where he is pursuing his art career after earning his B.F.A. in Illustration in 2010. For his Image 'Ode on a Grecian Tilley' Michael drew inspiration from the art of ancient Greece whose academic culture is the forerunner of modern academia and the love of knowledge that makes a store like the Strand that boasts '18 miles of books' possible. Tote dimensions are 13” W x 14” H, 12” handle, and 5” x 6” inner pocket with velcro closure.
