Banned Book: Burgess’s 1962 novel, which centers on a teenage gangleader who commits acts of ultra-violence (including rape) has been banned and challenged by schools and communities since its initial publication, mostly on grounds that it is “pornographic,” even as recently as 2019 in Florida.
