Acid Drop

(Aperture Tinyvices series). The photographer, who grew up in Texas, documents himself and his friends screwing around on their skateboards. The color photographs here were shot in Houston and surrounding suburbs in the 1980s, when Cappello was in the seventh and eighth grades. When he left Texas and moved to New York in the 1990s, the negatives got stashed away in a box in his parents' house. There they stayed for over ten years, never seeing the light of day until they were accidentally unearthed during a Christmas visit not too long ago. Illus., 45 collor photographs. 96p.
