Aurora Hendrickson is about to embark on her first year of high school. But first she has to contend with all the emotions that a 14 year old girl feels. Will she have friends, will her crush finally notice her and most importantly who is Aurora Hendrickson? How is she supposed to live out this life as a Christian girl.

Aurora goes on a journey of self discovery with the help of a box given to her by her Nana. In the box are several items that take her on an adventure to who she is not according to the world or today's culture but who God says she is.

Each item she finds in the box she realizes is a gift and a door into who God has called her to be. Just as her Nana has always told her. Aurora means light. Light is meant to shine and not to hide.
