This is a new edition of the complete poems of Keith Douglas, who is largely recognized as the most brilliant British poet of the Second World War. He was killed in June of 1944 in Normandy at the age of only twenty-four, yet had already achieved a considerable body of work. Douglas began writing poetry while at school at Christ's Hospital and later at Oxford University, and continued his poetry while serving in the army in England and the Middle East. Desmond Graham, Douglas's biographer, and a poet in his own right, has revised his original edition of the poems, bringing the poignant words and powerful images of this distinguished poet once again to life.
