Katherine got pregnant in high school, an unhappy and unexpected development in her small conservative town. Then again, maybe she didn't get pregnant after all-the plot between her philandering egg and her boyfriend's promiscuous sperm could have just as easily been foiled, or at least thickened in a cruel twist of fate. And the foiled plot makes all the difference.

Crossing Lines alternates between two parallel but divergent storylines, showing the dramatic path teenage Katherine's life takes depending on whether she gets pregnant, or not. A "what if" novel about destiny, fate, and chance.
