Louise Penny's latest work is Glass Houses: From the moment a mysterious figure appears in Three Pines, Chief Superintendent Gamache suspects the creature has deep roots and a dark purpose. Yet without knowing what he can do he resolves himself to inaction, hoping his fears will remain unrealized. But when the figure vanishes overnight and a body is discovered, it falls to Gamache to discover if a debt has been paid or levied.

Ann Cleeves latest work is The Glass Room, which tells the story of DI Vera Stanhope, whose neighbor goes missing one day. Vera tracks the young woman down to the Writer’s House, a rural retreat where aspiring authors work on their stories. Things get complicated when a body is discovered, and Vera’s neighbor is found with a knife in her hand. Vera knows that she should hand the case over, being too close to the main suspect, but the investigation is too tempting. Somewhere there is a killer who has taken murder off the page and is making it real . . .

Joining Louise and Ann to moderate the conversation is Madhulika Sikka, former Executive Producer of NPR's Morning Edition and the creator of 52 Weeks 52 Books 52 (mostly) Women.
