Aperture Presents: Bruce Davidson

Monday December 5: 7:00PM 8:15PM

Bruce Davidson is a rightful authority in the world of photography. He has been a member of the Magnum Photos agency since 1958, with projects like East 100th Street and The Dwarf. He chronicled the events and effects of the Civil Rights Movement around the country, in both the north and the south, receiving a Guggenheim Fellowship for his efforts. One of his pieces from his Brooklyn Gang collection even ended up on an album cover for Bob Dylan.

Join us in the Rare Book Room as Bruce discusses his work including his latest collection, Survey. Bruce will be joined in conversation with Darius Himes, International Head of Photographs for Christie’s and co-author of Publish Your Photography Book.

Strand is proud to partner with Aperture to celebrate photography.

Bruce will not be signing books following the event. All books for sale at the event are pre-signed by him. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Buy a $15 gift card in-store at the door to attend. This event will take place in the Rare Book Room on the Strand's 3rd floor, accessible via the store elevator or at 826 Broadway.
