Friday May 6: 7:00PM 8:00PM

From his self-starter beginnings in Brooklyn to the world stage, Isaac Mizrahi’s quintessentially American designs have helped define couture for the last three decades. His work has traversed and questioned boundaries of high and low style, cultivating classic glamour while broadening the appeal of the runway to the world beyond.

With Isaac Mizrahi: An Unruly History, the Jewish Museum’s lavish exhibit and monograph devoted to his designs from his 1987 debut show to the present day, he looks back on a career spent restless and rangy, spanning not just fashion but acting, directing, theatrical design, and cabaret, too. Join Isaac in the Rare Book Room for a conversation with Chee Pearlman, director of NYC’s Chee Company, former i-D magazine editor-in-chief, and curator of the Museum’s exhibit.

This event is free and open to the public, and will be located in the Strand's 3rd floor Rare Book Room at our store at 828 Broadway at 12th Street. Copies of Isaac Mizrahi will be available to purchase at the event.
