Mario Batali, Emilia Terragni, Michael White & Frank Bruni in Conversation about the Italian Kitchen The Silver Spoon: New Edition
Wednesday October 26: 7:00PM – 8:00PM
With nineteen restaurants, nine cookbooks and a host of television shows, including the ever-popular Iron Chef America, Mario Batali is one of the most recognized and respected chefs working in America today.
For the past decade, Emilia Terragni has been the Editorial Director at Phaidon Press, an international publishing house which publishes books on art, architecture and cooking. Emilia takes great pride in translating and editing the cooking bible she grew up with, , The Silver Spoon (Il cucchiaio d'argento) first published in English in 2005. She is pleased to present The Silver Spoon: New Edition (2011), the new revised edition of one of the bestselling Italian cookbooks of all time.
Michael White is the award-winning chef/owner of the Altamarea Group, which includes the restauranta Marea, Osteria Morini, Ai Fiori, Due Terre and Due Mari. Although White's soulful, flavorful interpretations of Italian cuisine indicate otherwise, he is not an Italian native but a Midwesterner.
Frank Bruni, bestselling author and former restaurant critic for The New York Times, will moderate what will surely be a lively, mouth-watering discussion.
Copies of Molto Batali and Silver Spoon may be purchased at our main floor registers or at the door to the event in order to attend. Both options admit two people. Please note that online event orders are unavailable on the day of an event.
