Lou Reed in the Rare Book Room--SOLD OUT!

Monday June 27: 7:00PM 8:00PM

In 2001, legendary songwriter Lou Reed immersed himself in the world of one of his spiritual forefathers, Edgar Allan Poe, to produce a cycle of songs in which Reed's poetically streetwise sensibility merged with Poe's dark chronicles of terror and despair. This suite of songs was released on 2003 on CD as The Raven. Now, Reed's Poe-inspired lyrics have been collected into a book version of The Raven, complete with vivid, abstracted and enigmatic paintings inspired by Reed and Poe by Italian cartoonist Lorenzo Mattotti (The New Yorker).

Ticket holders will receive a signed copy of The Raven, your choice of a famous standard-size Strand tote bag and the opportunity to meet Lou Reed.

Unfortunately, we are no longer accepting pre-orders for signed copies of the book.  Seating for this event has been SOLD OUT!
