Kidnapping

This publication represents the first major survey of the works and ideas of Scottish artist Douglas Gordon, who, since 1990, has made incisive and compelling works on the subjects of memory, perception and interpretation. Utilizing film, vidoe, sound and the written word, Gordon's works have been presented in galleries and museum collections world-wide; he was awarded the Turner Prize (1996). Here, the main text is a conversation between Gordon and Jan Debbaut, director of Eindhoven's Stedelijk Van Abbermuseum, discussing a 2-year period of work, background, training, attitudes to art & artists, references & preoccupations.
