Thomas Struth's project, "Making Time," installed at the Prado/Madrid in early 2007. It continues Struth's established work on the subject of art venues, & consists of photographs of the Prado's famous collection, simultaneously encompassing its visitors, & that were displayed throughout the duration of his exhibit as part of the museum's intent to open up fresh perspectives on its holdings. Struth made more than 400 images in & around the venue, showing an "inhabited" public space highlighting the interactions between the exhibited paintings & their viewers. The book includes images from an earlier study of Velazquez's "Las Meninas." (1656). In color.
