Agnes Carroll eagerly accepts a coffee invitation from Celeste Lacompte, who has recently returned from a long stay in the south of France and has bought a bungalow in a new housing development in West Edmonton. Anxious to catch up on her friend's news and curious to see how the elegant Celeste has furnished her new home, Agnes is not prepared for the grim scene she encounters on arrival in a stainless-steel kitchen.
