Strand Staff Pick: Monstrilio ultimately asks us the questions: what does it mean to be your most authentic self? And what does it mean to fully accept another? What do we take away when we force conformity? What scars are left behind by the monsters we expect, and the ones that show up in the quiet and well meaning? Monstrilio reads more like literary fiction than your standard horror. It's thoughtful, humorous, deliciously queer and deeply moving.
