Mudbound

When Henry McAllen moves his city-bred wife, Laura, to a cotton farm in the Mississippi Delta in 1946, she finds herself in a place both foreign and frightening. Laura struggles to raise their two young children in an isolated shack wiht no indoor plumming or electricity, all the while under the eye of her hateful, racist father-in-law. Shortly after the McAllens arrive, two war heroes come home to help care for the farm. Jamie, Henry's younger brother, is a charmingman who takes a liking to Laura, while Ronsel, a black sharecropper and war hero, attempts to deal with the bigotry that comes with being back in the States.
