On Aggression

First published in 1966, Konrad Lorenz's On Aggression was a bestseller, a critical success, and ultimately, brought its author the Nobel Prize. Asking the fundamental question: What is the nature of aggression?, Lorenz examines a vast and colorful range of groups and situations, including the democratic and indecisive societies of schools of fish, the violent clannishness of rats, superstitious birds, how dogs greet each other after a long separation, and the soap-opera worthy lives of his famous subjects, the greylag geese.
