In their thought-provoking book, "On Kindness," psychoanalyst and author Adam Phillips and award-winning publisher Barbara Taylor explore the seemingly simple and straight forward concept. Though kindness is the hallmark of many religions and is instilled in children from an early age, it comes with a certain risk in this antagonistic and individualistic society.
