(1968). 1st edition of author's 2nd novel. Faintest, uneven toning to textblock deckled fore edge and sightly worn bottom edge with faint marking to bottom corner. Faintest patches of discoloration and minor scratching to textblock stained top edge. Faint toning and offsetting to end papers and pastedowns with spotting to rear pastedown and minor spotting to front pastedown. Faint burn through to pastedown bottom edges resulted in slight offsetting to end paper bottom edges. Light bumping, wear, and slight discoloration to edges, forecorners, and slightly creased spine ends of gently rubbed boards with small, faint crease to front board top edge. Uneven toning along spine and covering panels of dust jacket verso with approx. 1in. wide band of offsetting to center of spine and center of front panel. Approx. 1/4in.x1in. piece of darkened tape to d.j. verso spine approx. 1in. below head end. Light scraping and slight wear to edges, forecorners and slightly bumped/creased spine ends of gently rubbed and faintly marked/scratched d.j. with approx. 1/2in. closed tear to top of front joint. Slight chipping and scraping to d.j. forecorners. Approx. 1/4in. curved, closed tear to center of d.j. rear joint. Thin but more noticeable scratches to d.j. rear panel: approx. 2in. long tear surrounded by faint scraping starts and top end takes a sharp turn extending approx. 3in. across top of panel. Thin, approx. 6.5in. long scratch with scraping take a sharp turn and extends approx. 3.5in. across bottom 1/4 of rear panel. Toning to d.j. flap edges with bumping and creasing to rear flap top edge. VG/VG.
