Product Description

Suze Rotolo was a shy girl from Queens and the daughter of working-class communists during the Cold War and McCarthyism. Suze was an outsider in her neighborhood and school so she found solace in poetry, art, and music. In Washington Square Park she found people who were similar to her and in July 1961 met Bob Dylan. While together, Dylan went from obscure folk artist to the voice of a generation. Suze writes about a time when change was happening both throughout the country, with the civiil rights movement, and within her own world, as romance began to fade under the pressures of fame. This is a beautiful story of youth, love, and a future filled with promise.
