RANT takes the form of an oral history of one Buster 'Rant' Casey, in which an assortment of friends, enemies, admirers, detractors and relations have their say on this evil character, who may or may not be the most efficient serial killer of our time. Of course, this is fictional time, which raises the bar of expectations on the writer, in this case, the one and only Chuck - whose blazing and horrific insight into the desperate and surreal contemporary human condition makes him the one to deliver this violent, late-night hunting game. So here's a book about a guy whose recreational drug of choice is rabies. That's not a lot to start with. But there's one Palahniuk, and then there's the rest of us.
