Roy Stuart: Volume V

In his new book, the fifth to date, Roy Stuart hones his exploration of the blurred merging of pornography and eroticism; something more forthright, close to film. Here, his photos "tell" short stories, like short films, and the models become actors, their movements caught in freeze frame studies, between portrait and narrative. The sex is more explicit, retaining some of the mystery characteristics of erotic images. An accompanying DVD contains several scenes from which the photos are taken, with excerpts from the Glimpse DVD series and excerpts frolm Stuart's film The Lost Door.
