When General Patrick 'Hulk' Scott, head of the Australian

Intelligence Service, recruits young and promising university

student Max Shaw he puts him on a course towards becoming

a frontline intelligence agent.

During his initiation training, it's clear Max has something rare - the skills and ruthlessness needed to become a formidable spy. But Max is full of doubt, questioning whether he can do the things his country needs him to do, including lying to the man he loves.

Just as his training ends, new recruit Max is thrown into his first
