Sheltered

"Honey, it's time to get up," I hear my mama say softly.

"Mhm, I'm up," I reply in a scratchy voice.

"I'm going to be making breakfast. Be dressed and downstairs in ten minutes." I hear her leave my room.

I lay there for a couple more minutes before getting up. I walk to my closet and pick out my favorite dress.

It's pink and is just above my knees. It's sleeves don't really cover my shoulders so I slip on a jean jacket. I then put on flats. I spin in the mirror two times to admire my outfit.
