Switcheroo

After her criminal husband is murdered, Corinne inherits his fortune. Then she disappears. And if she isn't going to collect, the fortune falls to her nephew-in-law-Little Steve. He wants to confirm what everyone seems to believe, that Corinne is either long gone or stone dead.

That's where detective Jaimie MacRae comes in. MacRae has a hunch that Corinne might be hiding out at her lawyer's house. Unfortunately, when MacRae gets there he finds the lawyer shot in the head. Could it be that Little Steve is already trying to take over his father's syndicate business? That he only hired MacRae as a blind? Or is there a lot more going on here than a missing heiress?
