Everyone in Melbay Village and beyond knows about Bid the healer and her magic bottle - a small, blue, glass bottle, which holds Bid's special cure.
But Bid is old and needs to pass on her knowledge. Who will she choose to carry on her healing work - Widow Hannah and her daughter Ellie, or their troublesome neighbour, Lizzy?
There is just one condition for whoever takes over from Bid - never take money for cures.
