Beloved supersleuth Sid Halley, last seen in 1995's "Come to Grief," returns with a tale of murder and intrigue at the races. A former champion jockey himself, Sid Halley knows enough about racing to know that it is very uncommon for a death at the races to include three .38 rounds to the chest, but that's exactly what he finds at the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Halley was originally summoned to the races to investigate a peculiar losing streak among Lord Enstone's horses, but when he arrives at the track, he, instead, finds himself in the middle of a triple-homicide investigation.
