Since 1998, photographer Larry Sultan has photographed on porn sites & sets in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. The result is a "dense series of lush and intricate pictures" of middle-class homes appropriated by the porn industry. Sultan focuses on mundane details like a half-eaten slice of pie, heaped dirty linen, "actors" taking a break - that offer clues suggestive of the acts produced in this bizarre other-world.
